Typical of the police service, the patrol division provides twenty-four hour
coverage responding to calls for service and patrolling the community
to provide a visual deterrent to crime while enforcing traffic laws
as well as state laws and township ordinances. Equally as important as the
patrol division are the dedicated people who work in the dispatch center
answering the many calls for service, including 911 calls, received every day.
Not only do they answer the calls for service, they are the lifeline to our
police and fire personnel, providing them with the information they need when
responding to the thousands of emergency and other calls for service
that are handled each year. Our investigative division is responsible for handling
hundreds of cases each year. When an incident requires more follow-up
than the patrol division can provide it becomes the responsibility
of the investigative division.
